The story of Tahitian Goddess began in the dreams of a young girl who ran along the beaches in Papeete, hair flying in the wind. Among her favorite places to be were the kitchens of her Mama and her aunties. There she learned to slice the onions and grate the ginger, listening intently as her elders traded culinary secrets as they performed cooking magic. Young Diane soon showed her own talents and began a lifetime practice of creating sumptuous delectables as gifts for friends and family.

Diane continued this tradition in Hawaii after the family moved. Often her friends would suggest that she should do something more than use her talents for gifts. In the spring of 1991, her church invited her to participate in a fund-raising craft fair. The results were so overwhelming, Diane began to think in earnest about making her childhood dream come true.

Looking back, our idea of establishing a successful small business on the idea that people loved the taste of our product seems a little like the story of Hansel and Gretel, who thought leaving a trail of bread crumbs would keep them from getting lost. With the help and support of loyal customers, talented friends and business veterans, Tahitian Goddess progressed along the winding trail from tiny business to small business.

The founding partners committed to a policy of using selected Hawaiian fruit, traditional cooking methods and, of course, no artificial ingredients. The path took the little company through years of fund-raisers, craft fairs, fashion shows and festivals. Today Tahitian Goddess is a long-standing member of the Hawaii Food Manufacturers Ass’n and the National Association of Specialty Food. The first products appeared in home canning jars with labels created on a home computer. Our current line won the 2003 Pele Awards ‘Best In Show’ prize for packaging. Tahitian Goddess products are carried by the finest retail stores in Hawaii.

Our long-term commitment is to earn the loyalty of our growing family of customers by never compromising the quality of Tahitian Goddess products. We still care as much as if each jar was a special gift.
